I have chosen to run for City Council for many reasons. The most important: I think Medina is a great place to live, work, worship, and play. It has provided my family with a wonderful life for which I am eternally grateful. Medina has had great leadership for many years and the upcoming change in leadership requires a thoughtful response. I think the new members of council should be experienced in government, informed about the many facets of municipal operations, and a history of being involved in the civic life of Medina. I believe I have those qualifications and would welcome the opportunity to bring them to Medina City Council.
The more people who visit our historic square, the more we need to enhance the public safety around the square; distracted drivers are causing very real challenges. Similar concerns strain Medina’s Police Department in other parts of the city; we need to strengthen the Department’s ability to address these challenges.
Medina is known as a resident and business friendly city; many changes are coming to City Hall next year – it’s essential the level of service remains strong.
Measured, strategic economic development has led to Medina’s current success; the next City Council and new Mayor need to work together to keep the ‘train on the track.’
